Ive been to American Rag in QV exactly 4 times now- and every time I've gone the experience has been beyond splendor!! The shop owner and younger staff are all so kind, attentive and supportive. After mentioning I was looking for a brand of jeans going by the name of 'Miss Me', the shop owner instantly offered to help. She searched all over the store then requested I leave my phone number so after she gets any stock she could message me to pick them up. And soon after less, than a day I get a message saying she's found the exact jeans I was looking after!!! Everytime I enter the store it's so exciting as all the pieces are truly one of a kind. Although the prices are quite high, the quality and individuality of the pieces shine through. Im slowly building a timeless wardrobe that I truly adore thanks to American Rag. Any fashion lover or anyone intersted in clothing should go here <33

Pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of American vintage wear here. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clothes are on the pricier side but are clean and well maintained.

If you want to find quality vintage clothing from the west side of the world, here it is. Though, there aren’t cheap as you’d expect from an opshop store. Friendly staff. Got myself some goodie .

Thanks for helping me pick out the perfect jeans yesterday!! Have never had a pair fit this good and would never have thought to try vintage men’s Levi’s. You guys know what you’re doing :) ♥️

While staying in the city I went with my boyfriend to look for a vintage dress for my school formal coming up. I had plans to go to a handful of vintage shops but landed here first. We were greeted by two really nice ladies, who helped and complimented me whilst trying on the few dresses I found. They both agreed that the purple dress I found was the perfect one and I bought it immediately! When we were just about to enter the shop, a group of teenaged boys who just came from the store were complaining about the prices. I disagree wholeheartedly as vintage shops are completely different from op shops. American Rag obviously pick out beautiful pieces and there is time and effort put into sourcing those clothes (and not including the time spent examining and making sure the pieces are in good enough condition to sell). The prices are entirely justified. The dress I got was $160 which is AMAZING as the dresses my peers are buying are upwards of $350. The dress I found is entirely unique and (I hope) can’t be found anywhere else! If you have some saved money and want to find a timeless piece from American Rag I’d highly recommend it. The staff are so friendly and the vibes are just so nice, and they’re not the type of staff members to make you feel bombarded while browsing, they hype you up and get excited seeing you in the clothes they’ve hand picked! Thank you to the two lovely girls who made me feel so pretty <3

Great service and the stock keeps coming. Fast fashion has skewed our perception of what quality clothes actually cost. This is quality vintage that will be passed on when you're finished wearing it, and not in land fill.

An incredible experience to try and fit such unique pieces so beautifully kept…. In my experience, items up to 60 years of vintage and in such beautiful condition…. What a privilege! Staff were incredible!

I found a piece on the shop's social media that I *needed* to have. The shop went above and beyond to work with me on getting the piece from Melbourne to Ohio, USA, and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I couldn't be happier! Thank you again!
